Radio Control Model Boat Club and Facility Located North of Los Angeles off of Highway 101 in the city of Camarillo andfounded over 25 years ago, the Camarillo Pond Rats are one of Southern California's oldest Radio Control Model Boat Clubs and Facilities. The club also hosts North American Model Boaters Association (NAMBA) District 19 sanctioned race events.
Camarillo Pond Rats (CPR) offers the RC Boat community a NAMBA regulation oval course as well as an Off-Shore course. A new Drivers' Stand was constructed in 2009. From the elevated drivers' platform, operators will experience the best possible viewing of the course. Model Boaters will find the shaded pit area and drivers' starting tables along the shoreline ideal for race preparation. Heat racing events of Nitro, Gas & even Electric Classes are held monthly.
Come to participate or watch the exciting races. All sizes from micro-electric to large-scale gas boats capable of speeds up to 75 MPH are run here !! It's fun to participate on race day. It's also lots of fun to watch these exciting machines go head-to-head for the finish line.
** Just wanted to recognize a couple of folks who have really helped the Pond Rats out recently. **
Thanks to Tony for getting the new website up and running !
Thanks to our Mystery Locksmith for helping us out with the new locks !
And a special Thanks To Cleve Smith , who not only helped out in scoring and judging many races in the past, but also built and maintained our previous website. We appreciate his many years of service to the pond and the Rats. Cleve has been battling a serious illness over the past year, so please keep him and his family in your thoughts.
